Thursday evening

Our day has ended with a campfire, sharing successes and reflections and marshmallows!

A Welsh sing-a-long was had, and we chased the rain away with our own storm. Bags have now been packed ready for tomorrow, and the children are enjoying their last visit to the common rooms for games of pool, table tennis or movies.

Thursday afternoon

The view from the top…from Dr Best who has joined us today

We tried…..the weather proved worse than the forecast …

All the children have shown resilience and readiness today in their preparation for the climb. We walked the Miners Track up to Glaslyn ( the third lake) where we had lunch ( under the emergency shelters!) to try and keep “warm”. Some groups carried on to the Zig zags before turning back…the rain was horizontal at time so well done to them.

All back now for hot tea and showers before tonight’s campfire

Wednesday evening

Tonight the children have taken part in team games, working on their communication skills. Around the centre were a variety of games and challenges for them.

Unsurprisingly, children are all tired this evening – their activities have worn them out! Tomorrow will be an earlier start for Snowdon,as we need to make sure we all the correct equipment and clothing before setting off.

Although the weather wasn’t quite so sunny, this afternoon the groups swapped activities . The ropes were arranged for rock climbing, and the scrambling group had time to go for a swim too.

The children have been excited to hear that people are commenting on the blog, please leave us a new comment  and we’ll pass it on.

Rock climbing and abseiling

Wednesday

What a morning of achievement!

The gorge scramblers had an amazing morning working their way through the gorge to the lake. Although the water was freezing, there was a huge sense of achievement when they arrived back up at the top.

The other groups took part in abseiling in Betws.  Although the day started damp from last nights rain, the sun broke out and made for a glorious morning.

This morning we are all up and ready for our activities. After much excitement, we slept well last night, we were up early and have breakfasted then made our lunches.

Tuesday evening

This evening we have taken part in orienteering round the site, to help us understand the different areas as well as learning some facts about Wales in our quiz!

We’ve been really lucky with the weather today – we were all so warm walking into the town centre. The forecast for tomorrow is mixed- rain first then clearing up. However we shall be gorge scrambling so the wet won’t matter!

We spent time in Betws trying to classify the types of buildings and who they were used by; tourists or locals. We then completed a traffic survey to think about why those vehicles were in the area.
